| Bio: | Doing Live Journal is rather an experiment for me. "To know and be known" is one of life's strongest...needs? As is often the case with people, their insides don't always match their outsides and written communication styles can be quite different from verbal styles. Give me a blank sheet of paper and I'll fill it in minutes. Give me 10 minutes to talk and I'm struggling to find something to say. In my case, when I send emails to my friends with deep, intimate content, my friends tend to freak out because they experience light, happy, flirty, fluffy me in person and then they don't exactly like it or understand me when they experience the side of me that comes out when I write stuff down. It seems to me that people prefer simplicity; complex people are hard to grasp. I can and do appear single-faceted at work, but I would prefer to be a whole person in my personal life. Maybe one day I'll have permission from the one I'm with to be a whole person. I can't even imagine how satisfying it might feel to be able to be my whole self openly with someone and still be accepted. Until then, here I am. :-) |
